The Mountains of Mumbai

The text is simple, but the subtext vast. This book is a warm optimistic conversation between two little girls about challenging one’s perspective.

Review: Turn, Seek, Find – Habitats

Anytime you have a child interacting with the pages of a book, you are encouraging reading!

REVIEW: The Old Woman

This is a very serene book about an old woman and her dog, clearly in the twilight years of their lives. They live in a house “with not much in it.” One day they go for a walk through the hills because the old woman wanted to “hear the crunch of the dry leaves under her feet…” Implying the notion that it is the autumn season both literally and figuratively.

Review: Bugs and Other Little Critters

Ranging from “at the pond” to “in the dark,” the environments were suitably interesting to capture the imagination of child and parent alike.

Review: Home for a While

This gentle book about caring for a child in the foster care system is beautifully illustrated and delicately written.

REVIEW: No More Plastic

A word to the wise, this book is not for the faint of heart. It deals with what happens when plastics end up in the ocean and it does not pull any punches.

REVIEW: Dear Moon

Max and Ely are two little boys working hard to get the moon to stay in place. They send a rocket up to try to lasso it, they even try to scold it into submission. Each night the moon comes and goes, bringing closer the day that Ely must leave for the hospital.

REVIEW: Angelina and the Princess
