Damned if this book didn’t have me in a puddle of tears!
At first read (more of a first glance), it’s the elaborate pictures that really just caught my eye. I didn’t actually read the words as much as I tried to take in the incredible imagery, literally woven together by the heart string that follows along each page, binding this beautiful book together.
The words are few, but impactful, following a heart string, reminding us that we are all connected to one another across all time and distance across the globe.
I can imagine tracing over the string in this book with a pudgy little hand in mine, and reading through when that little hand is not so little, the universal truth of this story, making this a classic through the ages. Eventually sending it off into the world with a grown-up hand–reminding them my heart will always be connected to theirs.
