Review: The Pop-Up Guide, SPACE

Ages 3-8

Kids love pop-up books! There is something about the tactile three-dimensionality of the book that gets the senses going. And, I’m not just talking about kids’ senses. I know adults like pop-up books as well.

Chronicle brings us a very basic space exploration book that starts off with an overview of the skies and ends up with “destination Mars.” It is a wonderful, enthusiastic, simple pop-up (no intricate lattices here) adventure meant to spark the imagination. Colors are bold, lines are crisp–word count kept to a minimum. Let the imagination fly!
