“I’m sorry, there’s been a mistake. That’s not my brother.”
“No, no, I’m afraid I don’t make mistakes. This is the right house. Bye bye.”
It’s a big day in the bird house. Baby is on it’s way! “Ding Dong!” The bell rings.
The mail delivery tortoise has a baby! But there’s a problem, this is not a baby bird, it’s a baby mouse!
“I’m sorry, there’s been a mistake. That’s not my brother.”
“No, no, I’m afraid I don’t make mistakes. This is the right house. Bye bye.”
The tortoise explains as he walks off leaving the little bird with the baby mouse.

The special deliveries don’t stop there. Next comes a kitten, a puppy, a walrus cub, a piglet, a giraffe calf, even an elephant calf! No baby bird in sight. What to do with all the other crying little animals?? All through the book, the mail delivery tortoise is adamant that they do NOT make mistakes.
The frazzled little bird jumps as the bell rings once again! They’ve had enough! They’re about to launch into a tirade when the mail delivery supervisor explains that their assistant, tortoise has made “a few mistakes.”
The line of animal parents here to claim their little babies is out the door! And one by one they greet their young with love and care.
One more delivery left to make, little bird is FINALLY united with their little brother!
This was such a fun read. The illustrations are thoughtful and really pop, Especially as the babies start piling up! A great read for all kids, but especially those expecting a little addition to the family.
