Arlo the lion is exhausted, but just can’t fall asleep. As he struggles to sleep, he meets Owl, who shows him a beautiful song that she sings when she has trouble sleeping. Can that help Arlo? Does the song help him relax and prepare himself for bed?

Beautiful and whimsical illustrations, paired with a lovely tale by Catherine Rayner make for an absolutely adorable and perfect bedtime story!

This book promotes mindfulness and tranquility for young readers, which is important for a child to establish before bed in order to get a good night’s rest. Their little bodies and minds are active all throughout the day, and can have a difficult time slowing down when night comes around.

As I read the story to my son for the first time, I could see him physically calming down for the night as he listened to the words, and the song that is written throughout the book. For the first time in a long time, he dozed off quickly after the lights were turned off. Tell me, what more could a parent ever want?
